What is the Role?
SHE Transmission's core purpose is to provide the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way. As part of the Transmission business, SHE Transmission is responsible for delivering over £300M of projects within the Argyll region. We are currently looking for a trainee Field Unit Engineers for our operations activities.
As a trainee you will be working with the Tayside and Argyll Field Unit helping to deliver SSE's operations programme on our transmission networks. This is a key role in helping to build the future network for SSE. You'll be involved in major construction project delivery, outage management, contractor liaison, and on site field unit support. Safety is our number one priority, ensuring that all operational works are carried out to the highest standards. It would be expected that you would achieve Senior Authorised Person within 2-3 years.
What do I need?
You will be familiar with construction health and safety requirements and competent using Microsoft Windows, Outlook and Office applications. A confident communicator, you will be self-motivated, flexible in your approach and able to complete tasks within defined timescales. You must be willing to work away from your base location when required and a full UK driving license is essential. You will have an HNC as a minimum in electrical or power system engineering.
