SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.
The Mayflower team is supported by SSE Enterprise's corporate functions and provides technology, support and advice to its many customers across the UK, Ireland as well as further afield in Australia. As a market leader, Mayflower provides a 21st Century solution for the management of exterior lighting and associated illuminated equipment. Additionally, the business is developing and interfacing with Smart City platforms, IoT and analytics.
What is the Role?
Working for the Technical Solutions Manager, you'll oversee the work of more junior team members and support staff whilst yourself being responsible for Central Management System (CMS) software maintenance, preventive maintenance, version history, tracking security, compliance and product deployment. Your responsibilities will also include platform support and management oversight for application support and maintenance from SSE IT for our Asset management system, Mayflower Smart Control CMS. This system manages faults with Mayflower's lighting assets and allows full dynamic control and monitoring of each individual lighting asset to transmit data to the office enabling full and effective asset management.
What do I need?
You'll be able to demonstrate good programming experience in C#/C++ with MVC, entity framework, SQL/Microsoft SQL Server, IIS Configuration with a background in Microsoft web stack, API's and SDLC. Some knowledge and experience with Cloud technologies, Infrastructure, SOAP, Containerization / Microservices, Android programming and Serial Comms would also be beneficial.
Experienced in IT application support/development in a similar role, you'll be skilled in systems analysis, design and programming, as well as, ideally, have a basic understanding of supply chain delivery and IT budgets.
