What you'll be doing

You will be assisting existing customers understand how they improve their operational efficiency through the services we provide in support of their building control systems. Our service solutions help to reduce energy, cut carbon, increase productivity, and improve the well-being and experience of their employees or their customers.

Understanding our customers business and operational issues is essential, and our local engineering team will work with you to ensure we deliver to the excellent standard of service expected.

You will be joining one of the largest building controls companies in the UK with an established customer base, but you will also be talking to new customers and with FM contract managers to help grow the business.

This is a sales role and building rapport with your customers is a crucial part of establishing their confidence in you and our business to deliver the working and living spaces they envisage.

No 2 days will be the same, so this is definitely a role that will provide challenge, interest and satisfaction.

What is the Role?

Reporting into the Business Manager you'll execute the sales process to cultivate and manage long-term relationships. You'll be adept at seeking out, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities. You'll utilise sales tools to plan and document progress; increase business opportunities within accounts and participate as a member of the team on key and target customers.

You'll be tasked with proactively identifying and contacting new clients, cultivating and managing long-term relationships to build long term associations. This will involve understanding their business, operational and environmental objectives.

Utilising your industry experience in BMS/energy management, you'll be able to share your technical knowledge and operations expertise with clients to ensure you are able to match a service solution to their business need and act as a lead generator for other SSE solutions.

Managing multiple, ongoing opportunities, you'll focus on selling new support contracts differentiating SSE services and products from competitors based on business benefits.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role you'll have experience selling support service solutions and will demonstrate an understanding and empathy to resolving customer business issues. Knowledge of the energy sector, management and optimisation of energy use for your customers would be advantageous. With a determination to grow our business you'll enjoy proactively contacting new clients and be comfortable presenting them with solutions to their BMS requirements. Due to the nature of the environment you 'll be working in, you will enjoy working in a solutions, target and deadline driven environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be some of your key assets along with the ability to build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with your clients.

It is expected you'll display a professional manner and a dedication to meeting customer expectations, including delivering technical support, coaching and direction. You'll be working in an ever-changing environment and as such will be adaptable and flexible.

As you will be travelling to different sites it is essential that you hold a full driving licence.
