About the Department
Our Procurement and Commercial team are responsible for helping the business to procure services and materials in a timely and cost-effective way. We work right across the SSE Group, ensuring our businesses gets the best possible service and value from our supplier network, as well as ensuring all service providers are compliant and continue to meet contractual obligations and business need.
What is the Role?
The SRM Manager shall be responsible for developing, managing and implementing productive relationships between SSE Renewables and specified 'key suppliers who are operating on key projects and assets across the business. The role holder will regularly link between the senior leadership team and their key supplier counterparts with a focus on ensuring that these suppliers are delivering on key deliverables such as safety, timeliness, cost and quality. They will have responsibility to review performance and recommend changes both operationally and strategically for performance to reach a desired level.
The individual must have a thorough understanding of SSE Renewables and general strategies to be able to discover future value and opportunities specifically in the Renewables space, and these identified key suppliers.
The job holder will also be responsible for managing the delivery of related strategic projects (e.g. supplier innovation, development of supplier performance measures) and strategies, looking to make improvements to both policy and processes. The successful candidate will also interface with external parties to enhance UK and Scottish content and ensure SSE's supply chain are also actively engaged with SME businesses and local government.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you should have a good knowledge and understanding of the supply chain process and procurement process. You should also have previous experience in relationship and stakeholder management. A sound understanding of the utilities market in the UK and abroad, in particular the Renewables industry, is desirable.
You should have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and resilient. You should have excellent organisational skills and be a good team player.
