What is the Role
As a Smart Security Officer, you'll be responsible for performing day-to-day operations which help assure the security and compliance of SSE Business Energys smart meter environments data, assets and environment. You'll take a lead on Smart Metering security and compliance to Smart Energy Code requirements and will advise the business on security matters alongside independently performing security related tasks.
Acting as an SME, you'll be engaging with internal and external suppliers to advise on, and assure the security of, Smart-related services provided to SSE Business Energy. also establish ongoing security assurance dialogue with operational staff throughout the organisation to communicate the importance of security and assist them in achieving compliance with security requirements.
Your responsibilities will include compliance monitoring, assurance of security controls, risk management, supplier management, security policy development and maintenance, incident management, vulnerability Management and supporting the execution of internal and external audits. You will be working closely with SSE Groups Cyber Risk and Information Security (CRIS) function, led by the group CISO, through an upcoming period of immense change, which allows the successful candidate an opportunity to really stretch and grow in the role.
What do I need
We expect youll have a working background in compliance, risk, assurance, external and internal audit and, ideally, this will have been gained in a regulated UK energy market environment.
Experience in the following areas is essential:
- CISSP/CCP or significant Information Security related experience
- Cyber/Information Security Management and Governance
- ISO27001 and related ISO2700x standards
- Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) development and implementation
- Information Security risk management and assessment processes
- Data Protection Regulations (EU GDPR)
- Internal and External audit management and processes
- Regulated environments
- Compliance management
- Supplier Management
- Security control design and implementation, across both process and technical controls
The following skills and experience would also be useful:
- UK Smart Metering infrastructure and market
- UK Smart Energy Code (specifically Section G) and the Security Controls Framework
- Data Communications Company SMKI/DCCKI Registration Authority Policies and Procedures (RAPP)
- Critical National Infrastructure
- ISO27005:2011 - Risk Management
- ISO27035:2016 - Incident Management
