We have an opportunity available for a Graduate within our Customer, Smart Metering business, based in Forbury, Reading. Throughout your placements you'll work within our Business Energy Smart Metering Programme which is focused on bringing new opportunities for businesses through utilising emerging technologies to support the ever-changing energy landscape.
Smart metering innovation is not only giving businesses ways to more accurately record usage, more critically, it is exposing new and exciting energy management and sustainability possibilities.

The programme is entering an exciting phase as we draw imminently closer to go-live.
From there on in, every day will be exciting and different, with exposure to a lively, fast paced environment. There will be opportunities for successful candidates to learn, adopt and practice new programme and project management skills as we drive the rollout of Smart meters to our business customers.
Furthermore, you will also get eye-opening first-hand experience in areas such as campaign management, working with complex data, operational and regulatory reporting and contract management.
These roles will also provide great exposure across our business as you collaborate and interact with a diverse number of stakeholders, including Smart metering industry experts.
What do I need to join?
For this programme, you'll ideally have a minimum of a 2:2 degree in a business degree discipline. This may include but is not limited to Business Studies, Business Admin, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting & Finance, Commerce, Legal, Procurement, Statistics or other business-related discipline. Consideration will also be given to students with an engineering or STEM qualification and an engineering background/ knowledge would be advantageous for this role.
Wed love you to have practical work or project experience that reflects your passion for business, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. Youll also be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges.
You should have an interest in the energy sector, and show alignment with SSE's core values. We also ask that you have a flexible approach to work locations and be genuinely committed to developing a career with us - as we are with you.
