About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, London or Dublin

Salary: £44,100 - £66,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

What is the Role?

The Senior Analyst has responsibility for providing regulatory advice to SSE Renewables and helping to develop and maintain SSEs relationship with its regulators through effective external engagement activity

You will contribute to the strategic direction of SSE Renewables by providing regulatory support to teams operating our existing portfolio of renewable generation as well as projects developing a large pipeline of onshore and offshore generation projects in the UK and internationally.

The Senior Analyst works closely with regulatory bodies and other external stakeholders to fully understand and interpret regulatory and policy changes. The Senior Analyst will represent SSE Renewables via consultation responses, representation at industry forums and by proposing changes to regulatory frameworks, either on SSEs behalf or in collaboration with other industry participants.

Under the direction of the Head of Regulation - or the designated Project Lead from within General Counsel Team - provide input to regulatory investigations whereby SSE could be exposed to multi-million-pound penalties. Has potential to be appointed as Project Lead.

Clearly communicates changes in regulatory requirements or other regulatory developments to a wide range of internal stakeholders. May require some supervision for communications to BU ExecCos, GEC etc.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

Ability to interpret complex regulation/industry codes/legal drafting and produce and draft amendments.

Experience of interacting and negotiating with external stakeholders.

Know how to navigate internal governance and controls to raise awareness of issues, obtain information to quantify risk/value and support identified priorities.

Ideally you have a degree level qualification with relevant experience or extensive experience within a similar role.

Awareness of the interactions between multiple legislative, regulatory and code requirements and broader business and regulatory/ code/ policy objectives.

Our SSE Markets Regulation and Group Compliance function is accountable for providing specific legislative, regulatory, industry code and market arrangements' advice and guidance tailored to the businesses. We provide subject matter expertise and support to the management of SSE's relationships with external regulatory stakeholders, such as OFGEM.
