About the Department

Energy Customer Solutions is the face of SSE to our customers in GB and Ireland, providing leading and reliable B2B services as well as leading retail solutions for our B2C customers.

What is the Role

The "Demand and Install" team is responsible for ensuring that there is an active, multi-channel, tailored approach to engaging our customers generating the "Demand" of booked smart meter install appointments, that the programme can successfully and efficiently "Install" smart meters for our customers, and that there is a balance established between the two. This team now has an established leadership team and is recruiting a senior project manager to lead the "Load Balancing" team, to manage junior PMs and analysts in the team and to drive delivery of effective immediate, short-term, and long-term planning.

Key Accountabilities

1.Team leadership - Setting direction to the Load Balancing team, providing a route for escalation, prioritising activities, managing effective delivery of the teams objectives,

2.Load balancing - Ensure balance across all elements and strands of campaigns such as meter fixes, technical and business eligibility criteria, SMETS2 and AMR campaigns, against operational targets and installer skills and capacity.

3.Planning - Clarify, lock in and communicate monthly and quarterly campaign and installation plans.

4.Data and Insight - Oversee creation of a compound data set and reporting capability sewing together eligibility, demand, installation, continuous improvement insight and customer touchpoints. Provide line management to data hub project manager and facilitate the agile development of the data hub capability including liaison with the Product Owner to set out approach

5.Performance dashboards - Ensuring that load balancing performance dashboards delivered by team analysts are supporting quality decision-making, insight and performance management

6.Reporting - Working with team analysts to ensure reporting is of a high quality, that actions and owners are identified and tracked, and that insight continues to develop

7.Continuous improvement - Leading on existing or planned processes, suggest and design improvements, planning and delivery of improvements.

8.Governance - Facilitating the Load Balancing Steering group: ensuring that it is an effective, well-run decision-making forum to gain collective agreement on month by month demand and installation plans and next steps.

What do I need?

-No essential business knowledge required, but experience of working on regulatory projects, or in customer engagement, preferably in the energy sector, or on smart meter rollout programmes would be beneficial, but is not critical

-Working in a business project management environment: delivering projects/change

-Working knowledge of industry standard project methods, either waterfall project methodology or agile

-Working in an analytical environment: developing reports and MI, carrying out analysis

-Developing and delivering short, medium- and long-term plans

-Strong attention to detail

-You will be comfortable operating in a pressured but exciting environment
