What is the Role?
The Senior Project Manager will plan, organise and lead the delivery of major projects of significant monetary and strategic value to SSE ET. They will hold ultimate responsibility for the achieving the designated success criteria around time, quality and cost in relation to projects in excess of £3m TCV and/or those of major strategic importance/ brand awareness of SSE Telecoms.
Comfortable operating at C-Level within SSE Group and customer accounts, the Senior Project Manager will play a key role in making recommendations to management for continuous improvement objectives, operate as a wider business person - being prepared to challenge senior stakeholders where required, and be a model for integrity and provide positive promotion of the PM team both within our group and around the wider business.
What do I need?
The ideal candidate will have relevant Project Management qualifications combined with experience of managing large, complex projects. You will preferably come from a Telecoms background with strong knowledge of Fibre optics; different optical technologies and power constraints. You will also have thorough knowledge and understanding of how the power is deployed into a site and understand the theory and principles of Fibre technology. With regards to health and safety, you need to understand CDM requirements and all relevant legislation.
You will have previously planned projects via MSP/Visio applications and can assist with writing and presenting tender responses internally and to commercial customers.
You will have demonstrable people development skills and should be a proactive and self-motivated individual to drive activities to successful completion while remaining calm in a pressured role.
You will have strong written and verbal communications skills which will allow you to build and manage stakeholder relationships and work as part of team.
You have analytical problem-solving skills and possess a strong customer service ethic and skills.
