About the Department
The Enterprise Division comprises four companies: Contracting, Rail, Telecoms and Utilities. The SSE Enterprise Projects and Operational Support Team support the entire Enterprise division leading the deployment of best practice in assurance, project management, engineering and in handling strategic projects.
SSE Enterprise Utilities is the Distributed Energy and Private Networks business of SSE plc. We finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.
What is the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated technical project leader, with strong experience in co-ordinating designs for major projects within the energy, communications or transport sectors.
Within this role, you will drive engineering project teams in the evaluation of opportunities and timely delivery of innovative concepts and designs for large and complex projects, from initial concept right through to completion. You will therefore play a crucial role in driving growth for our business.
Your strong technical leadership will drive commercial efficiencies into your solutions while critically balancing health, safety, and the environment.
You will influence senior stakeholders inside and outside of our business to successfully develop your projects, through the application of excellent leadership and relationship management skills.
Your will continuously strive to exceed the expectations of our customers by taking pride to ensure quality across all your activities.
What do I need?
You will be ideally be qualified to degree (or equivalent) level in a subject relevant to the energy, communications or transport sectors, and have achieved (or be working towards) professional registration.
You will have a good understanding of the energy industry; particularly distributed energy technology and smart energy systems.
You will need to be able to competently and effectively co-ordinate the activities of multiple design disciplines and project contributors to deliver solutions which you will take ultimate accountability for on behalf of our business.
You will be a highly motivated individual with effective written and spoken communication skills, having a flexible approach that lends itself to collaborating with colleagues and customers at a very senior level.
