Our Role

This is an opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to join our expanding team. It will involve working with the business on some of the most challenging and high-profile data science problems in energy.

You'll build innovative proofs of concept for complex problems across our key business units.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll need to build end to end solutions, taking data from our transactional database and changing it to fit business hypothesis. You'll also build statistical models using Python and deliver meaningful insight.

You'll have proven experience helping deliver data science projects and a passion for data and analytics.

Your Skills and Experience

We want you to be inquisitive, interested in deep dive analysis and problem solving whilst also remembering the big picture. You'll be a creative problem solver, a rigorous attention to detail and ability to avoid over-relying on intuition when analysing data. You'll have experience working at a senior level within the energy / retail / financial organisation and have good business domain knowledge.

The following skills will be essential for success;

-Machine learning (Supervised/Unsupervised)

-Deep Learning

-Strong programming skills in both Python and SQL

-Proven Data Engineering experience.

-Strong knowledge of Tableau or Power BI

-Statistical background with STEM based Degree

-Excellent Stakeholder management skills

-Time Management and prioritisation skills

It would be desirable for you to have the below skills;

-Geospatial data science / visualization

-AWS or similar cloud experience

-AWS ML Services or similar

-SPSS Modeller

-Confident user of R

-Experience in Data Journalism

-Git Version Control

Applicants with a degree in a STEM related subject will be ideal however we are interested in candidates who are also qualified by experience.
