SSE Enterprise is responsible for providing innovative solutions to build, own, operate and maintain energy and communications infrastructure in the UK and Ireland. What is the Role
SSE Enterprise has recently set up a new Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) to own, operate and maintain electricity distribution infrastructure across Great Britain. Following the award of the IDNO Licence by Ofgem, the business is ready to commence operations, and has ambitious plans for growth. The IDNO is staffed by a small, core team with services provided in the main by other SSE Enterprise entities under SLA.
The Senior Commercial Analyst will have responsibility for matters relating to regulated charges and billing, financial reporting and forecasting, data analysis and investment modelling to support business development activities.
This will be a key role in supporting the growth of this start-up business, working both on business development and ongoing operations. You will need to have knowledge of the electricity distribution industry, and the codes and regulations which govern it; good numeracy and data analysis skills; and an innovative mindset to find new ways of working.
The role will be predominantly home-based, although the company is based at SSE's office at Forbury Place in Reading, with hot-desk facilities available there (and potentially elsewhere); occasional travel GB-wide is possible.
What do I need?
Knowledge of the Electricity Distribution industry and the Codes which govern it along with an understanding of the IDNO market and how this may change in the future; an appreciation of the market drivers and value chain for IDNO's.
An understanding of electricity Use of System and Connection Charging methodologies and processes.
Previous experience of working in a Commercial, Financial or Regulatory role with knowledge of corporate and commercial finance.
