About the Department
SSE IT underpins the technology needs of all the different businesses that make up the SSE group. From emerging technologies to data and analytics to cyber security - we power SSEs growth and enable it to generate value, while keeping it secure. As a trusted business partner that helps SSE lead in a low carbon world, we are proud of our service. Working for SSE IT is all about equipping SSE for now and the future.
What is the Role
SSE is transforming the way it delivers value from data and as a Senior BA you'll help execute on that vision.
In this exciting role, you'll be part of a team of BAs to define, form and lead on data-led analysis for the delivery of complex data projects to meet the analytical and reporting need across a number of SSE directorates.
You'll work with key areas of the Business to understand and shape their analytical requirements into demand for the Data and Analytics Team. In doing so, you must be able to promote the benefits of analytics, create strong relationships at all levels, organise and capture sufficient details around their analytic needs, drive out the potential benefits and assist the Business in defining requirements.
You'll need to maintain positive levels of communication, attend meetings, give presentations, advice and support and provide regular updates to Data and Analytics as to the potential opportunities and their status and activity.
Please be aware if you are successful, you'll be required to complete our pre-employment screening process before joining SSE.
What do I need?
You'll need to be able to develop a good knowledge of SSEs business and corporate drivers and goals, have experience in the delivery of data projects and be able to work at business, semantic and reporting layers.
Experience from a similar analytical or data BA role with demonstrable ability in defining and supporting data projects for complex systems in large organisations, while applying the latest DevOps and SCRUM techniques, is required.
You'll be working with the Lead BA to define best practice and governance standards for the delivery of projects, and to ensure that standards are maintained through the projects lifecycle.
