What is the Role?
SSE is transforming the way it delivers value from data and is implementing an Analytics Platform to help execute on that vision. As a Senior Azure Data Engineer (DataOps) you'll be working on various projects to bring important data-driven capability to internal customers and users.
As well as using your excellent data engineering skills with a range of Azure data-related resources you'll effectively engage with team members to advise, mentor and ensure best practice is always applied.
What do I need?
As well as significant experience of working in enterprise level DataOps environments, you'll have demonstrable experience of working as a Data Engineer on various projects alongside experience of and a deep understanding of Microsoft Azure generally.
You'll need specific experience and knowledge of engineering solutions against Azure Data and Analytics resources such as SQL Database, Synapse (Data Warehouse), Data Factory (v2), Databricks, Data Lake Storage.
We're also looking for you to have very good ability and experience in:
- Carrying out assigned engineering tasks to a very high standard
- Technical leadership and mentoring; sharing your experience with team members to assist and ensure best practice
- Working in a Scrum environment and the use of Azure DevOps as the primary tool for task tracking etc.
- Involvement in, and proactively advising on, related imperatives such as security, monitoring, auditing, testing etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, engaging positively with stakeholders
