What is the Role?

Business Energy focuses on non-domestic customers, supplying around 500,000 electricity and gas metering points to clients ranging from micro businesses to large national corporates and offering a wide range of energy contract solutions, including fixed and flexible contracts.

In this Senior role, working autonomously on complex projects and leading on small lower risk projects, you'll analyse system requirements and design, test, code and modify complex programmes and scripts to agreed company standards.

You'll be involved throughout the full software development life cycle offering advice and guidance on complex projects regarding Business Energy IT and matrix managing/mentoring more junior staff in the team. Additionally, you'll Assist in the maintenance of team documentation

What do I need?

You'll have excellent technical computing, analysis, design and development skills to a proven professional level.

Your specific technical skills will include excellent experience and knowledge of: cloud computing; building?applications using Azure; implementing Azure Cloud Services based on the Azure design patterns. You'll also have a solid background developing in C#, .NET and/or .NET Core using solid principles and design patterns as well as experience of supporting and troubleshooting cloud integrations (.NET Framework, C#, Azure Function Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps). Additionally, you'll have experience of development using Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD), ideally using Azure DevOps. You'll also be familiar with front end development using Javascript frameworks

You'll demonstrate significant design experience as well as strong technical computing, analysis, design and development skills. With a systematic and creative approach to problem solving, you'll also be able to prioritise your own workload within demanding schedules. You'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a significant understanding of the gas and electricity industry data flows and metering standards.
