About the Department
SSE Enterprise comprises three companies: Contracting, Telecoms and Distributed Energy.
SSE Enterprise Telecoms operates a 13,700km private telecoms network, with 265 Points of Presence and connectivity to over 80 commercial data centres that span the UK. With its extensive telecoms engineering experience, the company provides commercial security with unrivalled in-house engineering resource to Service Providers, Large Enterprises and the Public Sector providing a competitive range of leading-edge Ethernet, Cloud Connect, Optical Networking and Co-location services.
Reporting to the Business Development Director, the Senior Account Director will be responsible for new business sales and the retention of existing business within assigned SSE Group customers.
A solid background in where you have built strong relationships and have been solutions focussed is required to be successful in this role. You will collaborate with product management and marketing while being accountable for the development of the revenue and margin within this customer base and develop relationships with senior stakeholders.
Working in collaboration across SSE Enterprise Telecoms functions you'll look to drive the sales strategy across these customers and deliver sustainable profit.
Deal sizes can range from tens of thousands to multi million pounds and you will be expected to be comfortable working with customers across the spectrum.
Skills and Experience?
The ideal candidate will come from a background in the UK Telecoms market with experience in delivering complex sales and driving virtual teams through major contact centre transformation.
You will have a thorough understanding of our competitor positioning, market dynamics and developments. You will have an exceptional understanding of working within a large matrixed environment as well as medium sized businesses with a high growth trajectory to deliver high value proposals and solutions to new business customers.
As a highly organised, disciplined and professional individual you will have the ability to work accurately to demanding timelines and lead a team of technical architects and delivery specialists. Therefore, knowledge of leading complex sales and virtual teams through digital transformation is essential.
Experience of working for a System Integrator or consulting firms, at Senior Manager or Director level is preferred but not essential. You should have exceptional relationship building skills that will allow you to articulate, with the gravitas and confidence to the board and senior executives.
