About the Department

Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.

What is the Role?

Within this role you will be responsible for ensuring targets are exceeded; to aid in this delivery you will be supported by an effective team of competent and efficient Schedulers. Ensuring that priorities are dealt with, and work is delivered to meet programme and customer requirements.

Safety, scheduling of work, reporting and compliance are also key factors within the role. You will be responsible for ensuring safety is never compromised. You will be overall responsible for monitoring the scheduling programme. Working with the Resource Manager you will identify future training needs and ensure that talent and succession planning is at the forefront of future delivery, helping to identify and grow talent to fill business-critical positions in the future, you will develop, coach and motivate the team.

You will ensure that SSEN's customers remain at the core of every decision to ensure great customer service performance and value is delivered. Seeking to continually improve the efficiencies by focusing on reducing key areas including cost, travel time, repeat visits and changes to the programme whilst implementing improvement measures to ensure resource gaps are identified and managed.

Other key aspects within the role will include regular reporting, ensuring your department is fully compliant and management of Standby and Storm Cover.

What do I need?

You will have previous programme and scheduling management experience with significant experience of leading and motivating small teams in a target driven environment that delivers programmes together with the ability and knowledge to engage at all levels and instil a high performing culture
