About the Department

SSE Human Resources is made up of several operational and specialist teams who strive to help the business to design, develop and deliver their people strategies. We partner with the business to provide expert advice on all people matters, enabling them to get the best out of their teams and equip them to meet the changing demands of our business now, and in the future.

What is the Role?

Reporting to the Head of Reward, the Reward Analyst is responsible for the analysis of data in relation to the terms and conditions of employees across the SSE Group. This includes the pay of collectively bargained employees, personal contract holders and senior management. The role will also be responsible for managing and improving the job evaluation database and will require you to be trained in the appropriate job evaluation method in use.

What do I need?

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to data quality as well as being able to operate flexibly, independently and can make a key contribution as part of a small, geographically dispersed team. You should ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and have strong analytical skills, with good experience of interpreting and producing high quality, accurate management information. The candidate will be able to summarise key issues, trends and patterns. Experience of research techniques/data modelling is also required alongside the ability to sift information to determine what is relevant and check for accuracy against established standards.

As a Reward Analyst, you will have excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel at advanced level along with Word and PowerPoint at Intermediate level; you are also expected to be competent user of SharePoint and wider databases with ability to run queries. Being able to demonstrate an understanding/or experience of, cost and benefit analysis is beneficial as well as experience of operating with highly confidential and sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
