About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Key accountabilities will include:

- Providing technical expertise relating to wind turbines across a multi-billion capital project portfolio of offshore wind farms.

- Working as part of international multi-discipline project teams to support the safe and efficient design, procurement and delivery of the wind turbine package, from feasibility stages through to construction and into operation, ensuring compliance against the Large Capital Projects governance framework and ensuring project objectives are met.

- Undertaking and being accountable for specific activities within the Wind Turbine Package, such as: identifying appropriate technology for future projects, wind turbine due diligence, quality management and interfacing with other work packages and engineering disciplines.

- Supporting turbine contract negotiation by defining requirements and assessing deviations and opportunities.

- Managing engineering project risks, ensuring they are identified, mitigated, and escalated where required.

- Reviewing and promoting innovative solutions to enhance the value of the offshore wind farms we develop and operate.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Outstanding interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, which you will be capable of adapting to all management levels and in diverse business cultures.

- Excellent understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles together with a good appreciation of control, electrical and structural interactions, and the flexibility to apply this knowledge to innovations; experience in the wind energy industry would be advantageous.

- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline and be a chartered engineer or have a?very?clear path to becoming chartered.

- Strong commercial acumen and a firm grasp of the context and implications of engineering activities and decisions.

- A strong understanding of technical due diligence or other critical evaluation of design.

- Although flexible on base location, you may be required to travel to locations both within the UK and Internationally including travel to remote locations, so a UK/EU driving license is essential.
