What is the Role?
We are privileged to be responsible for sustaining and growing SSE Renewables business and we are recruiting a key position in the Renewable Operations Programmes team to drive forward this objective through the diligent development and delivery of a refurbishment project at key operational asset. This is an exceptional and unique opportunity to contribute to the future success of the business in a rewarding environment.
Your main responsibilities will include;
-Contract management, you will be expected to plan, organise, co-ordinate contract delivery, ensuring completion to budget and schedule. Works can include complex schemes with multi-party interfaces over multiple years and a proven capability is essential.
-Technical and functional specification and contracting the delivery of design, services, new equipment and works so proven capability is essential. Experience in managing quality in this context is considered an advantage.
-Risk assessment and establishing control measures is an important responsibility across as broad spectrum of potential scenarios and the capacity to manage these matters is essential.
-Proven capability within O&M, in an industrial environment and associated tasks including coordinating with technical staff in a dynamic environment. Experience of the application of a safe system of work is essential.
-Input to assist the development and delivery of budgets and associated financial management and control including reporting of complex multiyear works is important.
-Input to assist the development and delivery of contract related documentation including works scope, functional specifications and design documents is important.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role we are looking for an Engineer of mechanical discipline, who is educated to degree level or to HNC level with proven experience in an industrial environment. Experienced in the Hydro or broadly the power industry operational environment is an advantage.
You will have strong interpersonal skills and can work successfully within small teams without direct line responsibility.
