About the Department

Our SSE Markets Regulation and Group Compliance function is accountable for providing specific legislative, regulatory, industry code, cost forecast and market arrangements advice and guidance tailored to the businesses. We oversee and monitor the businesses compliance using a risk-based approach, ensuring effective controls and systems are in place and support the businesses to take corrective actions. We provide subject matter expertise and support to the management of SSEs relationships with external regulatory stakeholders, such as Ofgem. Working with our business, we identify, prioritise and lead SSEs responses to existing and new market frameworks, codes and regulatory policy changes (including dealing with information requests, consultation and attending external meetings) to influence and secure the best outcomes for SSE. We also support the business to fully understand, interpret and act upon the changes.
