What is the Role?

The Service Provider Delivery Specialist (SPDS) is that of a Sector Specialist working within the SSE ET Provisioning Team focussed purely on key clients within the Service Provider Sector. They shall be responsible for the delivery of standard orders, management of all complex provisioning activities / orders and escalation / jeopardy cases for a small number of key Service Provider clients that purchase high volumes of SSET services. The SPDS will work closely with the Service Provider sales team to provide a complete end to end service from SSET, proactively developing additional responsibilities and processes to ensure that clients receive the highest standard of customer service. The role is that of a Sector Specialist working within the SSE ET Provisioning Team and with the Service Provider Sector.

SPDS responsibilities include working closely with customers, PMs and Designers to prepare comprehensive action plans. Ordering / management of 3rd party services and associated off-net / on-net connectivity shall form a significant part of the role, however the Delivery Specialist shall also perform various project coordination tasks, like scheduling and risk management, along with certain administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling technical queries, along with customer escalations of significance and complexity.

What do I need?

To succeed in this role, you should have experience of ordering and managing the delivery of Ethernet and optical services from telecoms service providers and excellent time management and communication skills, as you'll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results to deadlines. The ability to communicate clearly up to C-Level is essential, as is a deep knowledge of Telecoms industry delivery processes as you'll be managing orders and resolving escalations for some of our biggest clients, whilst training and mentoring less experienced Order Managers and New Starters.

Ultimately, the SPDS duties are to ensure that activities assigned to them by the Delivery Management Team are completed on time, fully communicated, within budget and meet the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of autonomously managing orders or projects in the telecoms industry. You will be an expert at escalation handling and demonstrable knowledge of dealing with jeopardy cases for high-profile customers.

You should have the ability to interpret designs, schedules and step-by-step action plans; ability to assist with project planning via MSP / Visio / project specific applications and the ability to assist with writing / presentation highlight reports internally and to commercial customers.

Ideally you will have experience of BT and other Telecoms providers provisioning and ordering process for Ethernet, optical and cabling solutions.

APM PFQ and/or PRINCE2 Foundation level accreditations is desirable.

You should be a proactive and self-motivated individual to drive activities to successful completion while remaining calm in a pressured role.

You will have strong written and verbal communications skills which will allow you to build and manage stakeholder relationships and work as part of team, analytical problem-solving skills and possess a strong customer service ethic and skills.
