About the Department
Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area. Our network comprises of underground cables, overhead wooden poles, steel towers and electricity substations, and it extends over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain.
What is the Role?
As a Project Information Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the management and control of project / business documents and records across a wide range of projects for the Transmission Business Unit. Serving as a technical expert, you will use your previous experience to work with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to provide Document Control support for projects from conception to completion. Your responsibilities will be wide spanning and will allow you to supervise, create, implement and execute to agreed milestones and deadlines, whilst working to effectively mitigate risks. Previous experience of audits in relation to project and system record management would be beneficial.
What do I need?
With previous experience in a document control role, you should have the ability to pick up new IT software, and effectively use company-standard document management systems; we currently use Viewpoint and Content Server in our teams, so any knowledge of this or similar is essential. Previous experience of project close out including final records, archiving and handover would be a bonus. Sound knowledge of general IT systems such as the Microsoft suite is also essential. Your role will involve liaising and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, therefore it is crucial that you have excellent communication skills, along with outstanding organisation and customer relationship skills and an attention to detail.
