The Role

As Project Advisor (known within SSE as Consents Advisor), you will be involved in assisting with the management of obtaining all necessary consents to allow for the efficient delivery of new renewable generation projects. Reporting into the Consent Manager, you'll ensure that all the necessary rights to deliver the project options are in place.

Some of your other main accountabilities will include;

- Co-ordinating all resources and processes required to obtain necessary consents for projects

- Supporting the Project Manager and Lead Consent Manager when required.

- Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration

- Working closely with the Delivery team to ensure projects have all necessary permissions and consent conditions discharged to enable construction

- Working closely with the Generation teams involved with the operation and decommissioning of the project.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

We are looking for someone who has experience managing offshore, onshore or miscellaneous projects, and has been involved in business development and construction projects. We are looking for someone with a degree in with the Sciences or Engineering with an interest in energy.

You'll need demonstrable project management skills and an understanding of major capital projects delivery, encompassing project definition and set up, planning, cost, risk, quality and commercial management, combined with knowledge of commercial drivers for major infrastructure projects. An awareness of Energy markets and UK and Ireland government energy policy as well as Health and Safety legislation and practices will be essential.

As a result, driven individual, you'll have the ability to prioritise and adopt a methodical and logical approach to tasks whilst having the confidence to negotiate with strong commercial focus, and the resilience to work in a high pressure environment.

Outstanding communication skills will be essential for this role, allowing you to build strong relationships and deliver key messages across all levels, both internally and externally.
