About the Department
Energy Customer Solutions is the face of SSE to our customers in GB and Ireland, providing leading and reliable B2B services as well as leading retail solutions for our B2C customers.
What is the Role
The main objective of the role is to develop a competitive market offering to retain existing BE customers with compliant metering, encourage current Business Energy customers to take a Smart meter, also to attract new customers to Business Energy who may or may not already have a Smart meter.
In this role, the successful will be responsible for the following:
-Identify best practice in the Smart meter marketplace (tariffs, incentives, products etc.);
-Highlight opportunities for tactical product and pricing strategies;
-Assess and recommend potential new customer and renewal Smart tariffs for Business Energy;
-Strategically review and align Business Energys various Smart / AMR / Heritage meter tariffs;
-Assess and recommend potential customer incentives for installing Smart meters;
-Propose and prioritise additional Smart product offerings;
-Support the Commercial team in reviewing and updating Business Energys risk profile. This is likely to involve reviewing contract lengths and security deposit thresholds;
-Review and support the refinement of Business Energys customer eligibility funnel;
-Consider what above the line products can be used to drive customer engagement and value;
-Work to identify new channels to market for segmented targeted propositions;
-Track ROI against agreed budget asks to identify which propositions are the most commercially viable from both a brand and P&L perspective
What do I need?
This is a diverse and varied role which supports the development of a new pivotal capability for Business Energy. It will require a hands-on approach combined with commercial acumen and the ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships, both within Business Energy and with external partners.
We need someone who is knowledgeable within the energy industry; commercially savvy; great at building relationships and is able to not only deliver the immediate priorities but also consider broadly how SMART metering can provide a platform to drive competitive advantage to future product roadmaps and customer lifetime value. You will need good analytical skills and PowerPoint / Excel as a minimum. There is no need for detailed knowledge of Smart meters, although this would be advantageous.
The ability to virtually manage a single or set of project teams at once to deliver a multi-channel approach to proposition rollout is vital, as is your influencing and negotiation skills to get budget requests approved to enable test and learn activities.
