What is the Role?
The Process Safety Engineer is required to provide professional technical safety expertise to our gas storage sites to support continual improvement in SHE performance.
To succeed in this role, you should be a practically-orientated technical specialist in the maintenance and improvement of existing systems and behaviours, and the development and implementation of new programmes, with the aim of reducing operational risk. Other vital activities undertaken by this role include being an audit leader and undertaking root cause investigations. As an advocate for safety you will lead training and be the technical specialist supporting all levels of the gas storage workforce.
What do I need?
The ideal candidate will have a technical qualification in an engineering discipline or similar at degree level, or equivalent experience. You will have worked at a Top Tier COMAH site and have first-hand knowledge of a diverse range of plant and equipment, process safety concepts and principles.
It is also advantageous to be working towards or hold professional chartered status in a process or engineering discipline.
You will have demonstrable knowledge of best engineering practices, relevant codes, standards and legislation, plus familiarity with risk assessment techniques in relation to process safety critical plant and processes.
Furthermore, you should have the ability to write and present comprehensive technical reports which provide clear conclusions and that present the factual evidence used to generate opinions.
