About the Department

Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSE's obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs. What is the Role?

The Payment Performance Lead will be responsible for the processing and payment of all invoices for SSE Group.

Responsible for implementing change that results in an improvement to payment performance & responsible for building and maintaining strong partnerships with key business stakeholders.

Support the Quality & Change Lead to ensure risk to payment performance is minimised and embed the strategy for effective change management within the AP Function creating a culture where change is embraced and sustained.

The PPL is accountable for the day-to-day management and performance of the team & will support wider business functions on Payment Performance issues.

This role will be accountable for implementing and subsequently owning the escalation process and resolution of payment issues and in collaboration with Quality Change Lead (QCL), define and adhere to service level agreements that collectively work towards the Accounts Payable Vision.

Support the Quality Change Lead to enforce control and governance through documented procedures and processes; segregation of duties; identification and management of risk; and assistance with internal and external audit queries.

Accountable for maintaining strong and functional relationships with eInvoicing providers

When required, be prepared to deputise for the Group AP Lead

Ownership of Deputy Lead/Manager programme and succession planning.

What do I need?

The successful candidate will need experience of leading an AP Function within a challenging and dynamic environment. You should be able to demonstrable experience in managing customers effectively, including a range of stakeholders and able to contribute positively to the overall direction of the AP function. A relevant qualification in Accounting would be ideal.
