We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.
What is the Role?
As an Overhead Line Inspector, you'll walk and survey overhead lines, recording information on a hand-held mobile device and ensure that the quantity of overhead lines does not exceed the planned target in the Oxford area.
The information you collate will be accurate to ensure we comply with Health and Safety Regulations and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures. You will always be committed to working safely and will actively work to identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements.

You will also be well organised and will possess excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
Safety is one of our key priorities, so you should have the ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day and to work within our Health and Safety guidelines. Due to the nature of this role you must have the ability to work flexibly to meet business requirements and be comfortable being a lone worker.
Although based in Oxford, you may reasonably be required to work within our core hours and anywhere within the Ridgeway Region to service business demands so a driving license is essential.
Please be aware if you are successful, you'll be required to complete our pre-employment screening process before joining SSE.
