About the Department
As the front line on the Network, Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.
What is the Role?
As Network Integrity Manager, you will report into the Head of Customer Operations and will be responsible for a team of engineers. It will be your responsibility to plan and manage all Network repairs and long-term defects; optimising every project to ensure that as much work as possible is completed in every Network outage and that the project teams deliver optimum performance against productivity targets. Together, you and your team you will deliver great customer service and performance, that will both meet and exceed customer and regulator expectations.
Regularly reviewing defects, you will ensure they are reduced in line with agreed business WIP levels and will escalate any requests for Capital projects to the Asset Team; demonstrating safety as our number one value by committing to completing two site visits each week and promoting behavioural safety at every opportunity.
You will discuss your teams targets daily, ensuring that they are fully understood in order to drive performance and improvements; leading them to deliver high standards of SHE, Quality, Productivity, Affordability and Customer Service, whilst ensuring all administration, planning, reporting, compliance, escalation and investigation requirements are completed accurately and on time.
This will be done by ensuring all planned work is completed, all work for next day repairs are scheduled and that any issues are resolved on that day. You'll also run the daily huddle with the Network Integrity Delivery Managers and attend the Weekly Network Improvement Progress Review to ensure that the portfolio of repair work is on target, ensuring that the Quarterly, Monthly and Weekly promises for health index, IIS cost improvement and regulatory compliance are being adhered to.
What do I need?
Qualified in Electrical Engineering (e,g City and Guilds, ONC etc) or with equivalent operational experience, you'll be competent in distribution safety rules, have great attention to detail, and will be confident challenging the way of working status quo; continually seeking opportunities to improve your working environment.
A sound business knowledge and an awareness of the key stakeholders and customers in electricity distribution or a similar market stakeholder is essential, you will therefore have relevant technical experience and knowledge, as well as a basic understanding of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) generates revenue and incentives. You will have strong demonstrable experience of delivering commitments to customers, with examples of how you have led a team to deliver customer expectations, will have competent IT skills and extensive experience working with KPIs, fault costs.
