What is the Role?

Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for a Fibre and Sites Network Designer to join the Network Technology Commercial Infrastructure team. The successful applicant will provide designs and solutions to fulfil current and future demands for fibre and sites infrastructure, growth, sales support and strategic driven projects. The role requires effective delivery of design workflow from job initiation through to implementation, along with the creation and maintenance of key network records for fibre, network elements and site facilities.

The successful applicant will carry out initial desktop design to support the preparation of budgetary costing for services. Preparation of detailed design documentation to support network infrastructure designs and capacity management as required to direct project delivery. Auditing, maintaining and planning the replacement of the mechanical and electrical equipment within telecom site buildings. As safety is one of our key priorities, you should have the ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day and to work within our Health and Safety guidelines.

What do I need?

The technical skills required for this role include, experience of telecommunications fibre network design, understanding of Electrical Engineering including AC and DC systems, understanding of Mechanical equipment on telecom sites, understanding of Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 services.

We are looking for candidates that can display a high level of confidence, be able to demonstrate initiative and will have the ability to use flexible working to ensure we are delivering projects to time and budget. If you are self-motivated with good working knowledge of telecommunications technologies, have a full driving licence and can demonstrate a strong focus on personal and corporate safety, then we want to hear from you.
