Our Role

SSE Enterprise Contracting is a leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor in the UK, specialising in commercial and industrial building services projects, major design and build projects and significant infrastructure installations. Our Business Unit at Swindon is currently looking to recruit a new Contracts Engineer, preferably with a Mechanical background, to join the dynamic Regional team to assist in business growth and expansion in this field of our business.

The role would involve the Contract and Project Management of multiple Building Services projects from conception to completion inclusive of the following to ensure all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met;

- Engineering support to estimators and bid teams

- Design development

- Client management and development

- SHE management, project planning and operational delivery

- Setting to work and management of on-site teams

- Contract, Financial and Cost Management

Skills and Experience

We are in need of a person to join the team with the following attributes;

- Excellent project management and communication skills

- Good client and customer relation skills in electronic and face to face scenarios

- Ability to work in a team environment with engineering teams as well as the management of operational teams and operatives

- Be self-motivated to achieve team and personal targets and objectives set

- Be able to apply financial and budgetary controls to maximise profit returns

- Have a business acumen to identify opportunity and potential in a competitive market

- Be enthusiastic, innovative and open take on new challenges

- A strong focus and belief of values surrounding SHE standards

The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience

- Proven track record of managing a portfolio of projects ranging from £100k to £1m

- Mechanical background in a contracting environment

- HNC qualification or equivalent in an electrical or mechanical discipline

- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015

- Experience and knowledge of management of NEC3 Contracts

- Understanding of technical drawings

- Knowledge of general office applications inclusive of MS Project (or alternative)
