What is the Role?
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Asset Engineer to join our Engineering Department at Peterhead Power Station. Focusing on looking after pressure systems, responsible for the PSSR written scheme and contractor works associated with inspections and repairs. Located on the North East Coast of Scotland, Peterhead Power Station is unique in the UK, having been re-powered in 2000 to combine three large modern Combined Cycle Gas Turbine units with the conventionally fired 2 x 660 Megawatt machines. This presents some unique and exciting opportunities for our station Engineers.
You will provide safe, cost effective and efficient maintenance of the plant, this will include liaising with other multi-disciplined engineering teams to investigate and resolve technical issues and oversea inspection and repair works carried out by third parties.
The role is to support the three main activities:
- Asset Integrity through the corporate governance role and compliance with standards and legislation.
- Technical Assurance through delivering of the PSSR(2000) compliance and statutory outage works.
- Project and Contract Management of PSSR related works, plus other Mechanical Engineering Projects.
What do I need?
The successful candidate will ideally be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Materials Science; or have an equivalent work-based background. Key skills for the role will be a working knowledge of the legislation and design codes, be familiar with current construction activities and/or have extensive knowledge of pressure systems statutory outages; from planning, site metallography and inspection, interpretation and reporting and previous responsibilities for the execution of works by third parties.
