We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer - Electrical, C&I to join our Engineering team at Peterhead Power Station. Located on the North East Coast of Scotland, Peterhead Power Station is unique in the UK, having been re-powered in 2000 to combine three large modern Combined Cycle Gas Turbine units with the conventionally fired Steam Turbine Unit. This presents some unique and exciting opportunities for our station Engineers.
You will provide safe, cost effective and efficient engineering and maintenance of the plant, this will include liaising with other multi-disciplined engineering team to investigate and resolve technical issues. Specifically, you will manage and where necessary supervise small engineering projects and maintenance activities to ensure work is executed successfully to achieve optimum plant output. You will use your experience to contribute to the development of technicians, craftspeople and trainees.
Skills and Experience Required:
To be successful in this role your will be educated to at least HND level in Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering although a Degree BSc/BEng in this discipline would be an advantage. You should have previous experience working in a similar role in a power station or similar environment (EFW, Biomass etc), or heavy industry. Previous experience of managing contractors and technicians would be desirable.
Due to your previous experience you will have knowledge of low voltage switchgear, motorised actuators, instrumentation, PLC's and hazardous areas. Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or other related IT software is essential. Experience writing and compiling whole work packs for technicians/workshop staff utilising a CMMS system within a process industry similar to this one is essential.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable you to interact with colleagues at all levels of the business and across multi-disciplined teams.
