The Lead User Researcher (User Research, UX Researcher, UX) Role:

  • You will work as part of an agile team of various skill-sets to design user-centered and successful solutions.
  • You will contribute to the planning stage, design stage, and help conduct user research in order to focus the design and development on what the user needs
  • You will play a key role in usability tests from developing user recruitment strategies through to test moderation, analysis and reporting
  • You will work alongside client insight and research teams to create relevant research plans
  • You will maintain constant communication with designers and developers in order to transform user insights into actionable design or service decisions
  • You will present results and related design or business recommendations and user insights to stakeholders at each stage of the process
  • When required, you will provide lightweight scamps and sketches
  • You will work with designers to create content by taking complicated language and processes and turning them into something accessible and easily understood
  • You will work with fellow researchers to allow for a consistently research-focused approach
  • You will apply your knowledge of human factors, ethnography, and the user-centred design flow to service and product design
  • You will be expected to communicate with a varied range of digital delivery disciplines both internally and externally 
  • You will ensure your work complies with all non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements, as well as maintaining security of information at all times


  • Relevant experience in a similar role, either agency or client side
  • Previous experience in collecting and delivering actionable insights
  • The ability to demonstrate your knowledge in user-focused design methods
  • Previous experience with working in an agile manner would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of qualitative research methods such as user requirements, data collection and early stage concept and prototype testing, guerrilla research etc to ensure user needs are fully covered
  • Knowledge of using artefacts to share and communicate insights such as experience maps, user flows, user profiles, experience blueprints, prioritised user needs and test results
  • Understanding of information architecture, visual design principles and interaction design
  • Knowledge of quantitative research methods
