Lead Maintenance Engineer - Mechanically Bias - Essex - £40,000 basic plus overtime - Days 4 on 4 off - Plastics Recycling Facility - Additional training on offer - 25 days holiday plus stats
This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically biased maintenance engineer to take a step into a multi million pound organisation who specialise in recycling across the UK and Europe. This role comes with great progression opportunities and additional training to further your career.
The plastics facility aims to take 200m bottles a year from offices and homes across London and convert them into high-quality food-grade HDPE pellets, which they then sell on to be made into more milk bottles. The materials are sorted at a plastic recovery facility before arriving in Dagenham.
Recycling material from pellets into plastic bottles uses 75 per cent less energy than using virgin materials, equating to powering 20,000 homes - and doubling the UK's recovery capabilities of high-density plastic recycling.
Responsible for maximising the throughput of the facility by organising and completing day to day routine maintenance and shutdown work of all plant and equipment.
You will organise and plan ppm scheduled work and non scheduled work through SAP CMMS.
Supervise service contractors and contract labour, raise work permits and review risk assessments/method statements
Identify and order spare parts for repairs and modifications.
This role is approximately 60/40 time split between hands on maintenance and planning/supervising
Maintain equipment on site - Material handling equipment, extruders, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, low voltage equipment, plant auxiliaries and much more.
Must be from a mechanical maintenance background with strong fitting & welding skills
Must have worked in similar background i.e Manufacturing, Recycling, Heavy machinery or Process background.
Must have experience in supervising technicians/contractors in a small maintenance department.
Experience using a CMMS
Good Basic and safe electrical skills would be a distinct advantage
£40,00 basic salary
25 days holiday plus stats
