Our Procurement and Commercial team are responsible for helping the business to procure services and materials in a timely and cost-effective way. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Contract Manager to join our Procurement and Commercial team based in our Perth or Glasgow offices, to assist in developing and implementing key procurement and commercial strategies across a range of projects in our Networks Transmission business.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Contract Manager who will have developed experience in providing the pre and post contract quantity surveying / commercial support on a range of one off and programmes of work. Reporting to the Contract Manager or Procurement & Commercial Manager, the Junior Contract Manager will provide assistance and support to projects including:

- Estimating

- Sourcing and tender management / support

- Cost and budget management

- Payment and expenditure management

- Contract Administration

The Junior Contract Manager will also support the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance.

What do I need?

We are looking for candidates to have relevant industry experience in supporting projects with knowledge of construction contracts. You will be able to analyse and interpret numerical reporting data, and have excellent IT skills including knowledge of all MS Office applications, Emptoris and Oracle purchase systems.

You will possess the ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritise requirements where necessary. Attention to detail is a must, as well as the ability to work methodically through a demanding workload. You will need to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and hold the ability to influence and negotiate with users outside your own sphere of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:

- Working toward Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent

- Experience of managing contracts on projects or programmes of work to a value of £5-10M
