SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.

What is the Role?

Our HV centre at Slough is a small but profitable and highly-skilled HV technical resource, contributing to the growth of our HV business throughout the South West Region.

We currently have an opportunity for a HV Contracts Engineer to join this team, to identify and develop sustainable HV business opportunities, focusing on new and existing HV contract customers. In addition, you'll design, estimate, plan and manage the delivery of associated work contracts. You'll also provide a consistent workflow and optimise the profit contribution to the business and ensure all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met.

What Do I Need? 

To be successful, you'll have a proven track record in design, construction and operation of electrical plant and equipment up to 33kV. You'll have sound HV and LV electrical knowledge and will be familiar with all Suspension of Operational Practice, Dangerous Incident Notifications and National Defect Reports. You'll also have an electrical background encompassing a range of contracting activities and be able to demonstrate commercial acumen and enthusiasm to help grow our business.

You'll have the ability to identify, design, quote and manage HV contracts and will be able to negotiate with clients to secure profitable business. You should be able to apply financial and budgetary controls so that maximum profit is received, whilst managing quality, safety and planning of the work. You'll also have a working knowledge of the CDM regulations, in addition to general office applications including MS Project. Previous SAP experience would be beneficial.
