SSE Human Resources is made up of several operational and specialist teams who strive to help the business to design, develop and deliver their people strategies. We partner with the business to provide expert advice on all people matters, enabling them to get the best out of their teams and equip them to meet the changing demands of our business now, and in the future.
What is the Role
We have an exciting opportunity in our HR Operations team for an HR Manager to partner with part of our Distribution business to ensure effective alignment and delivery of the strategic people plan.
A key part of the role will be to contribute to the shaping and achievement of the business agenda, providing support to specific business leaders as they manage significant change. The role will also require participation in or leading HR initiatives across the whole business.
In order to effectively support the business, you should have a commercial focus and experience of HR with the ability to take a creative and proactive approach to problem-solving. Working closely with key stakeholders and their teams, you will be skilled at building effective working relationships. You will lead in all people-related activities from identifying short- and long-term recruitment requirements to engagement, organisational design, change management, trade union involvement and supporting performance improvement.
What do I need?
In order to effectively manage and challenge business requirements, you should have a strong commercial focus along with experience of day to day operational HR and HR planning. You'll be comfortable working autonomously and will take a creative and proactive approach to problem-solving. You should have the ability to execute strategic HR goals that are aligned with the business.
An experienced HR professional with a proven track record, you'll likely be CIPD qualified and have demonstrable experience of executing HR projects and initiatives. You should be emotionally resilient, possess strong influencing and organisational skills.
