SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.
What is the Role?
SSE operates the largest Street Lighting Contracting business in the UK, maintaining in excess of 1 million lighting units and street furniture. Due to an increase in current workload we are looking to recruit a fully qualified electrician to join our Street Lighting team in Leeds.
In this role you'll be involved in the installation of a range of street and highway lighting apparatus and all related maintenance works, including full electrical testing, disconnecting, repairing and/or replacing old/faulty equipment and recording all necessary paperwork.
What Do I Need?
To be successful, you'll have completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and/or servicing/maintenance work or will have obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent).
You'll be qualified to Assessment and Measurement 2 (AM2) and have a good working knowledge of the 18th Edition: 2008 Wiring Regulations. City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent is essential, as would be IPAF / PASMA and G39.
In addition, you'll have a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice, relevant British Standards and Construction Industry Safety Regulations and have obtained Achievement Measurement 2. A full working knowledge of electrical safe systems of work is critical to deliver a safe working environment where you'll be responsible for a delivering a permit to work system.
A full UK driving licence is vital for this role a HGV license would also be desirable as well as a passion for safety and the ability to work well in a team as well as independently, the role involves travelling within the Northern region.
