Our HV Projects Team at based from our Slough office is a highly successful business delivering small, medium and large scale projects. Those vary between new build installations and existing Primary and Grid substation refurbishment projects. The projects involve civil construction, and High Voltage (11kV & 33kV) plant and switchgear works. The majority of these works are carried out for SSE Networks.
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced HV Projects Engineer to join our team, to identify and develop sustainable HV business opportunities, focusing on new and existing HV customers. In addition, you will undertake outline design work, estimating, planning and managing the delivery of associated work contracts. You will also help secure a consistent workflow optimising the profit contribution to the business whilst ensuring all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met. You will work with our trusted supply chain partners, our existing directly employed 33kV Senior Authorised Persons alongside our Fitting and Jointing teams.
Skills and Experience Required
With a proven track record in design, construction and operational understanding of electrical plant and equipment up to 33kV, you will have sound HV and LV electrical knowledge and will be familiar with all Suspension of Operational Practice, Dangerous Incident Notifications and National Defect Reports. Candidates will need an electrical background encompassing a range of contracting activities and be able to demonstrate commercial acumen and enthusiasm to help maintain and grow our business.
You will have the ability to identify, design, quote and manage HV Projects and will be able to negotiate with clients to secure profitable business. You should be able to apply financial and budgetary controls so that maximum profit is received, whilst managing quality, safety and planning of the work. You will also have a working knowledge of the CDM regulations, in addition to general office applications including MS Project. Previous SAP experience would be beneficial.
