Graduate Engineering Systems Technician - £22k Basic - West Yorkshire - Paint Manufacture - WorldWide Organization - Further Training & Career Development - 33 days holiday
As a member of the Engineering team, the Systems Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the vast array of equipment and processes that go into producing our world renowned brands. Including supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment through to the optimisation of line performance, and compliance with engineering standards. Will have proven experience and be able to demonstrate a broad range of skills from systems diagnostics, problem solving, have a dynamic and hands-on approach. Be part of an improvement team to develop new processes or technologies. Optimise and generate a program to effectively manage all PLC / HDMI programs across all regional production sites (UK.NL.DK)
Will be able to interrogate and modify PLC / HDMI programs
Will be required to carry out planned routine maintenance,
Be fully conversant with pneumatic and hydraulic Logic systems.
Carry out predictive maintenance using the latest techniques, including thermal imaging and vibration analysis.
Carry out failure mode effect analysis.
Support the demand of a 24 hours operation and deliver against tough Supply Chain and customer service targets
Variable workload, including proactive project work and reactive breakdowns.
Complete corrective actions during shift to return equipment to standard output quality and waste levels
Respond immediately to equipment failures during your shift
Conduct systematic, rigorous and accurate fault diagnosis
Determine most effective solution to the fault
Effect the solution, and report on the nature of fault, cause and solution via computerised maintenance system (SAP)
Prevent losses (equipment damage), accidents or injuries through use or maintenance of equipment
Conduct continuous machine observation during the shift, identifying potential safety risks and taking necessary actions to remove the hazard
Conduct risk assessment prior to any maintenance work and ensure conclusions are implemented prior to start of work to remove hazards
Ensure equipment is handed back to production in 100% safe condition
Be aware of incident reports and work with operational managers to promptly implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
To observe the company policy on Health & Safety at Work.
Be proactive in business process improvement initiatives and be aware of equipment performance trends such as O.E.E., quality and waste.
Take full responsibility for the quality of information recorded in the shift log and ensure the information is communicated to appropriate colleagues at shift change.
Diagnose breakdown causes and repair efficiently and effectively.
Modify and improve equipment, plant and processes.
Support and contribute to the development of safe systems of work ensuring that Company Health and Safety standards are complied with, and safe working practices are always adopted.
Daily communication with production Line management either Go Meeting or DOR
Experience in root cause analysis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
MUST have a Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
MUST be eligible to work in the UK .
ONC or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
Recognised Electrical apprenticeship or approved training scheme
Formal training and certification in PLC & HDMI programing
