My client is looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer to join the team in Gloucestershire. This arm of the business designs, engineers and manufactures measurement equipment for the utilities industry.The main products are Flow meters for the Water and Gas sector. These are assembled and in some cases made onsite with some of the components being bought in from suppliers.
You will work cross-functionally to complete project-based work on key issues. You will also ensure product, systems and processes are performing reliably and offer/implement technical improvements where possible. You will need to use problem solving methods to ensure the continual improvement of the product and process.
You need to be an organised, proactive person with a passion for electronics and engineering in general. You will need to be a good communicator. Experience in the embedded side of electronics would be advantageous.
Responsibilities will include :
Work alongside Engineers and Scientists to ensure current technology meets functional requirements and to develop new and improved systems, circuits and devices.
Contribute technical and electronic engineering expertise into new products
Improve the design and performance of the electronics to minimise faults
Develop and implement test, to ensure the product will be in working order at manufacturing stages.
Develop specifications and testing regimes to create reliably-performing units.
Work with suppliers to ensure the manufacturing of quality, reliable components.
Create and implement process and product audit to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
Drive and facilitate advanced manufacturing techniques including flow and cell design and process automation
At least 3 years' experience of providing engineering support in a manufacturing environment
BEng/BSc or equivalent in electronics/embedded systems or equivalent
Six Sigma Green belt (or equivalent)
ISO9001 - Audit Training
Track record in analogue and digital electronic hardware design, including front-end measurement and ultra-low power design, including embedded software development
Knowledge of PLC or LABVIEW
Experience of embedded software development
Excellent communication skills
A flexible attitude to work
