About the Department

Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.

What is the Role?

As the Facilities, Fleet, Logistics and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a safe, fit for purpose and compliant fleet and will ensure that all stores are equipped with adequate stock, in line with both SSE and regulatory standards. All the while, delivering a cost-effective function made on commercially sound decisions.

You will manage a team of Resource Controllers and Store People ensuring that all work is delivered safely and efficiently whilst undertaking all line manager responsibilities from SHE, compliance and reporting as well as everything else in between.

Your responsibilities will include the daily management and organisation of the Regions fleet of circa 300 vehicles, in conjunction with SSE's Fleet Service department; providing monthly KPI reports highlighting risks and opportunities.

As a strong leader, you are expected to drive the performance and productivity of the team to ensure work is completed to an exceptional standard, on time and in line with internal customer requirements.

What do I need?

An experienced and competent people manager, you will have a strong team ethic and a passion for promoting and upholding a high standard of health and safety. Previous experience managing small groups of staff within an internal service delivery team environment would be ideal but is not essential, proving you can demonstrate a proven ability of instilling a high performing culture within a Corporate property service.

An excellent communicator, your ability to engage at all levels and awareness of key stakeholders and electricity distribution customers will be crucial. Your confidence in delivering formal presentations whilst following relevant FM legislation will also be key.

You must have a basic understanding of how a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) operates and generates revenue and incentives within the current price control period as well as a thorough understanding of local business plans derived from regulatory price control submissions. An appreciation of unit cost / financial awareness and budget management is required.

You should also be computer literate and have the IT skills to effectively analyse performance data.

For this role you must have a full, current driving license.
