What is the Role

Due to continued growth, we have an opportunity for a Fisheries Manager to join our Capital Projects Team who will provide support across our GB and Ireland offshore wind farm development, construction and operations programme, managing and coordinating fisheries issues for our offshore wind farm portfolio. The location of the post will ideally be Glasgow or Perth, (although alternatives will be considered with regular travel to Glasgow required) along with travel to sites within the UK and Ireland.

You'll be the key point of contact for SSE Renewables for commercial fisheries stakeholders and will lead on relevant fisheries issues across projects at the feasibility, development, construction and operations phase. You'll also be responsible for developing robust relationships with local, regional and national fisheries stakeholders.

A critical part of this role will involve representing SSE Renewables on industry and regional forums, providing advice and support to project teams concerning commercial fisheries practices, interests and issues as well as supporting the production of fisheries inputs into project feasibility studies, scoping reports and EIA/ES chapters.

What do I need?

We are looking for someone who ideally has a background in offshore wind farm development or experience of commercial fisheries and other relevant environmental issues. Due to the nature of this role, it's essential you have excellent written and oral communication skills together with an innovative mindset and flexible approach and a strong stakeholder engagement skills. This is a demanding and fast paced role, therefore the ability to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis is essential.

Travel will be required, therefor a valid UK Driving Licence is necessary
