SSE has recently announced an ambitious £12.5bn investment programme over the next 5 years to focus on the net zero transition. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for you to capitalise on this period of extraordinary growth by joining a key and high-profile Corporate Finance team at the heart of SSE's strategy. We take responsibility for the Group's financial strategy by assessing strategic alternatives and making recommendations to the board. We manage the Group's funding requirements and credit rating, as well as M&A and project financing transactions which will now focus on international growth as well as the home markets in the UK and Ireland. We also complete financial investment appraisals for projects across all of SSE's unregulated businesses.
This role will therefore give you exposure right across the SSE group and insight into the key financial transactions we are supporting now and in the future. In the last 24 months alone we have completed over £2.8bn of disposals, raised over £7bn in project finance debt, and appraised over £12bn of investments, so it really is an exciting time to join.
As Corporate Finance Modeller, you will play a pivotal role in driving forward all areas across the Corporate Finance team, including:
- Creating, developing, and maintaining financial models used for assessing key strategic decisions.
- Providing first in class financial analysis.
- Supporting investment appraisal, M&A, and project finance transactions.
- Assisting in the preparation of Board presentations.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Strong financial modelling or excel skills.
- Prior experience in a corporate finance, transaction services, or an FP&A environment would be beneficial, but not essential.
- Highly analytical and experienced problem solver with a keen attention to detail.
- Confident communicator who can simplify complex messages and provide high quality work on a timely and consistent basis.
