About the Department

Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSEs obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs.  SSE operates in a highly regulated and increasingly competitive environment, and our role is to ensure that we gather, compile, analyse and recommend on the financial strategy for our businesses, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and create value for SSE now, and in the future.

What is the Role?

SSE Renewables is the UK's leading Renewable energy company, we are expanding rapidly by beginning construction on Seagreen and Doggerbank windfarms which total 4.7GW and over £10bn of capital expenditure and are some of the largest offshore wind assets planned to be built in the world. In addition, SSE Renewables has ambitious growth targets for offshore and onshore wind farm development in the UK, Ireland and internationally as well as operating its Hydro Power fleet.

We are looking to recruit 2 Finance Administrators into the Capital Projects team within SSE Renewables. These roles are to support the Finance Manager in delivery of all accounting tasks including; month end close, reconciliations, cash & banking, VAT and all other transactional duties. The Capital Projects team are responsible for the development of all wind farm and hydro power stations and this can include acquisition and disposals therefore, by nature this role can be quite ad hoc and support on a variety of tasks is required.

What do I need?

We are looking for candidates to have a basic understanding and experience in Finance, this is a great role for anyone looking to begin or continue an early career in Finance, you'll be passionate about the industry and committed to a career within SSE Renewables.

You'll be able to work independently and as part of a team, this is a busy role which will require you to be highly organised and able to prioritise a busy workload. Additionally, you'll be IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office Programmes confidently.
