Job Title: Finance Manager - Energy Related Services
Salary: £44,800 - £67,200 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
12 Month Contract | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
The Finance Manager is an exciting role and will allow you the opportunity to support two very different business groups, Home Services and Energy Solutions. Home Services provides a range of Boiler, Central Heating and Electrical Wiring Services, breakdown cover and installation services. Energy Solutions installs energy efficiency measures in domestic properties through commercial contracts secured with social housing providers. These contracts cover the installation of external wall insulation, central heating systems and renewable energy solutions alongside associated works.
As the Finance Manager you will lead a team of five who will be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of general accounting, period end closing, and delivery of reporting information to the wider Finance community and Retail business leaders in line with defined reporting protocols. You will lead, coach and develop your team to work cohesively and to strive for excellence and innovation in all they do with a focus on streamlining and improving existing processes and impacting a positive change.
You will liaise with the Business Partner on a daily basis to provide updates on financial performance and provide additional insight through reporting and commentary as required. They will also interact with the Business as required to understand the impact of material transactions that will impact performance.
Your Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidate for this role will require a blend of technical accounting skills, along with excellent people management skills.
We are looking for you to be a fully qualified accountant with extensive experience in an operational finance role with exposure to issues of similar complexity. Knowledge of current regulations including IFRS / new UK GAPP, Companies Acts, Regulatory Licences etc is essential along with knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures. You will show that you have strong financial and organisational skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of people. Strong communication skills, commercial awareness, focus and enthusiasm are essential attributes along with being proficient in MS Office applications (particularly excel) and knowledge of ERP software (Oracle would be desirable)
We are looking for you to have a track record of shaping and leading teams and you will show a flair for developing and mentoring the people that work for you. You will have a focus on continuous improvement, and you will be able to show where you have initiated and led change initiatives in a business environment.
A background in the energy industry would be a benefit but isn't essential.
