About the Department
Our SSE Finance function has a key part to play in fulfilling SSE's obligations as a UK-listed company, providing expertise and services that can be shared across the SSE Group, and working in partnership with all businesses to provide services tailored to their specific needs. SSE operates in a highly regulated and increasingly competitive environment, and our role is to ensure that we gather, compile, analyse and recommend on the financial strategy for our businesses, identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and create value for SSE now, and in the future.
What is the Role?
The Lead will play an active part in the management team across the project lifecycle covering analysis and design, testing, delivering training, implementation and transition to business as usual. Working across multiple business functions they will attend workshops both to act as a Finance expert in support of SMEs from across BE, and to act as a business expert in communicating change back to the core BE Finance team and wider Group Finance functions. They will play a decisive role on the design of the functional finance aspects of the system. Post-implementation they will be expected to support transition to the systems and processes implemented by the BEST CPR programme and aid further development.
This role covers the breadth of functional finance, from core billing and cash to system interfaces, VAT, CCL and reporting. The Finance Lead for Business Energy Transformation will be seen by the wider Finance community as the Finance SME for this project and is expected to identify and engage with other members of the larger Finance team where appropriate.
Given the intended pace of this programme the successful candidate will be expected to take an agile approach to the role, being available as demand dictates, and able to travel as required.
What do I need?
The successful candidate must have significant experience in a Finance Business Partnering role across order to cash processes within the UK utilities sector and significant experience in one or more large scale ERP implementation or transformation programmes. Knowledge of SSE's Business Energy and Corporate systems, processes, and organisational design is preferable.
