About the Department
Operations are responsible for keeping the lights on; we are at the front line on the Network. If we find a fault, it is our responsibility to respond to the fault, and dispatch our skilled teams to fix it as quickly as possible. We work in all hours, and through all weathers, ensuring our customers are never without power.
What is the Role?
You'll be responsible for the administration of the capital budget in the Network Design workstream across the South East and Thames Region areas. This will involve inputting data, examining existing information from multiple sources and liaising with colleagues to enable payment of invoices from our contractor resources.
In this role you'll also ensure that all payments have been made and ensure that all POs have enough value on them for the job to continue. As well as this you'll rectify any issues with jobs that are unable to progress due to finance.
As well as the finance aspect of the role, you'll also create and run spreadsheets which will assist each of the designers to ensure that our capital delivery programme runs to schedule.
In addition, you'll be expected to support the Network Design team in a range of administration duties, including arranging meetings, keeping spreadsheets updated, attending meetings to take minutes.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role you'll have the ability to forecast workload and performance and be able to use Microsoft based applications, especially Excel. A financial qualification or accounting experience is necessary for this position as the responsibilities of the role include book-keeping and R&D financial reporting. We would be very interested to look at candidates from an accounting or book keeping environment. Great communication skills would also be advantageous for candidates to have.
