About the Department

At SSE, we own more than 500 property assets and several thousand land assets, which are located across the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland. Regardless of size or complexity, it is the role of the Property & FM Team to provide a safe, modern, fit-for-purpose property portfolio, which supports each SSE business, represents value for money, increases space utilisation and enables improvements in the way we work.

What is the Role?

As the successful candidate for the Facilities Site Manager role, you will oversee the delivery and execution of FM services and activities at Thatcham. You will be accountable for the timely delivery of all soft services, as well as hard services provided by Engineers and Planners, ensuring works are carried out and service standards are met. You will be responsible for the safety of all contractors and employees on site. You will hold responsibility for business compliance with all statutory regulations, maintain records, control all local FM resources and manage relationships with key stakeholders.

What do I need?

As you will have an active involvement in process improvement, analysis and long-term refurbishment plans, experience of statutory compliance, building and facilities is important - particularly health, safety and environmental standards. You will have a proven track record of delivering a quality service within Facilities Management or a similar dynamic and diverse environment, such as the hospitality industry. You should be experienced in revenue and capital budget management. Ideally you will be qualified or working towards your BIFM Level 3 Diploma.

A flexible and proactive approach to continuous improvement will keep you commercially aware, and help in leading a high-quality customer focus. You must have excellent organisational and people management skills, ensuring the level of safety and compliance is an important focus on each site, building each teams excellent delivery of customer service.

Please note that you will also be required to be part of an on call rota.
